Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated the Muslims of his country and Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
The Canadian Prime Minister said - in a statement issued from his office - "Muslims in Canada and around the world begin to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. For Muslims, Eid is a time for worship and reflection, where families and community members focus on the values of gratitude, kindness, and compassion for those in need. After the fasting of the month of Ramadan ends, Eid is considered a time to celebrate with their loved ones."
Trudeau confirmed that as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues, "Eid comes at a particularly challenging time. Canada once again affirms its call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the provision of safe and unhindered access to humanitarian relief for civilians."
Trudeau also confirmed that Eid al-Fitr is an opportunity through which Canadian citizens learn about the contributions of its Muslims across the country, adding that they have helped build a strong and diverse Canada, emphasizing that Canada will always stand by them.
