Officials announced the transport of two girls aged nine and 11 to the hospital after they were hit by a car near the Olympic Stadium in Montreal yesterday Monday, just minutes before the solar eclipse.
Montreal police also said they received a call at around 3:07 PM and responded to the incident at the intersection of Morgan Avenue and Sainte-Catherine Street.
The two girls sustained minor injuries that are not life-threatening, according to police spokeswoman Sabrina Gauthier
She said the two girls were admitted to the hospital to ensure that everything is fine."
Montreal police added that the driver is a 38-year-old woman, and a few hundred people witnessed the collision while crowds were gathering nearby to watch the total solar eclipse over Montreal
