The Calgary Police announced the discovery of the body of murder victim Chelsea Davidenas, believed to have been killed after her disappearance in February.

The police allege that Davidenas was lured to a house located in the 5600 block of Rundlehorn Drive N.E in the early morning hours of February 17 by two men she knew.

Investigators believe she was then killed inside the house. After narrowing the search area, the police said search and rescue teams found human remains northeast of Carseland in Alberta on Thursday, near 254 Range Road and Highway 901.

Carseland is also located about 35 kilometers east of Calgary.

The medical examiner confirmed that the remains belong to Davidenas.

Officials indicated that 26-year-old Steven Aaron Zwick from Airdrie, and 52-year-old Paul Joseph Rushton, are charged with first-degree murder.

The police said in a press conference that
Zwick and Davidenas had a prior relationship

It is also alleged that the two men targeted Davidenas because of her history as a sex worker.

According to Alberta Justice, the two men have a long criminal history.

Court records show that Rushton was sentenced to eight months in prison after being convicted of criminal trespassing under the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, court records for Zwick show he was already facing charges related to drugs, weapons offenses, resisting a peace officer, and assault.
