The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Sunday, its position on the recent military escalation in the region, affirming its condemnation of targeting energy facilities and emphasizing the priority of production stability and worker safety. This was stated in remarks by the official spokesperson of the ministry reported by the “Khabar 24” agency.
The spokesperson said:
“We strongly condemn the targeting of energy facilities in the region and warn of the serious repercussions of such attacks on global energy security.”
“We have contingency plans in place to deal with all possibilities that may affect energy supplies.”
“We affirm that the safety of workers in Qatari and regional energy facilities represents a top priority, and we are working to ensure production continuity and stability in global markets.”
Diplomacy is a priority.. and no radioactive contamination so far
The spokesperson added that Doha is “betting on diplomatic solutions to exit the current crisis,” stressing that “the only way to spare the region further escalation is to return to the negotiating table.”
In the context of the nuclear tension resulting from the Israeli attack on Iranian facilities, the spokesperson confirmed that “so far, no concerning radioactive contamination has been detected in the Gulf waters,” noting that Qatar is “intensively monitoring the situation in coordination with the International Atomic Energy Agency.”
Gaza at the heart of the crisis: Immediate call for lifting the humanitarian blockade
Regarding the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, the Qatari Foreign Ministry emphasized that “the situation is deteriorating dangerously,” pointing out that “the only solution is the unconditional allowance of humanitarian aid into the strip.”
The spokesperson concluded by renewing the call to the international community, saying: “We demand immediate international pressure on Israel to safely and urgently deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, as the continuation of the current humanitarian disaster cannot be accepted.”
