Canada faces challenges on several levels: political, economic, social, and environmental during 2024, which could be a year witnessing radical transformations in the country
The political challenges are the most concerning for Canadians, given the reality of the minority government running the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, supported by the New Democratic Party led by Jagmeet Singh.

Considering the decline in popular support for Trudeau with rising inflation rates accompanied by increases in the prices of goods and services and mortgage costs, many observers are looking towards the Democratic Party and whether it may withdraw from this alliance and ignite a new electoral battle this year instead of holding it in 2025.

The right-wing opposition Conservative Party is expected to benefit from the Canadian electoral map in the upcoming elections to return to power lost in 2015. The country is also expected to face many challenges on the international relations front related to China and Russia.

The environmental challenge is also among the main challenges for Canada in 2024. There is a need to address climate changes and preserve natural resources and wildlife, as the Canadian government seeks to implement strong environmental policies, encourage the use of renewable energy, and reduce pollution.

Social justice represents a new challenge, requiring focus on reducing the economic and social gap between communities. Opportunities available to everyone should also be enhanced, providing equality in education, health, and work sectors.

On the economic transformation level, Canada faces challenges in steering a sustainable economic transition towards reliance on innovation and modern technology, as the government seeks to invest in e-commerce, green technology, and support startups to enhance innovation and economic development.

In 2024, the Canadian government may use different strategies to address inflation problems, depending on the economic situation and the policies adopted by the ruling party. Potential measures may include monetary policy adjustments; the government may work closely with the Bank of Canada to manage interest rates, as raising interest rates is a common tool used to reduce inflation by lowering spending and investment. However, this policy has caused difficulties for mortgage borrowers and pushed many people away from the idea of buying a family home.

Changes in government spending and tax policies may also affect inflation, as the government reviews its fiscal policies to manage demand in the economy.

One of the common problems in the country is the aging population, where Canada faces a significant challenge in providing adequate care and health services for the elderly. With the increasing number of seniors in society, the government and institutions providing social care must work together to provide appropriate healthcare and build infrastructure that meets the needs of this age group
