A man who was seriously injured in a shooting in a residential building in Etobicoke on Thursday night died from his injuries.
Toronto police also confirmed Friday morning that they are now investigating a homicide.
On Friday afternoon, police identified the victim as Liban Hussein, 29 years old, the 13th homicide victim in the city this year.
Officers went to the building located on Eva Road, The West Mall, shortly after 8:30 p.m. after hearing gunfire inside the building.
According to police, an unknown number of suspects approached the victim and fired multiple shots at him.
He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but did not survive.
Police also said on Friday that no one has been arrested yet, and there is no suspect description available at this time.
They are asking anyone with information to contact investigators or call Crime Stoppers.
