Today, Sunday, the Parliament square in Ottawa witnessed a large gathering of hundreds of protesters against the threats from U.S. President Donald Trump to impose new tariffs on Canadian exports.
The protesters raised slogans such as "Canada is not for sale" and "Protect our sovereignty," amidst a heavy police presence. Prominent political figures participated in the protest, including Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, who emphasized the need to defend Canadian national interests.
It is worth mentioning that the U.S. escalation comes amid increasing trade disputes between the two countries.
