Ottawa, February 12, 2025 – OC Transpo announced the activation of the severe storm schedule for bus services starting Thursday, February 13, in response to weather forecasts indicating up to 40 centimeters of snowfall in the Canadian capital.

The severe storm schedule aims to provide safer and more reliable service during extreme weather conditions, allowing the network to restore its normal operations more quickly. It is noted that this is the first time this plan has been activated since its launch in 2022.

According to a statement from OC Transpo, adjustments will be made to the bus schedule to ensure service continuity, including the following modifications:

• Reduced number of trips: Buses will operate on a reduced schedule to ensure service stability during the storm.

• Replacement of bus types: Lower-performing articulated buses in snowy conditions will be replaced with 40-foot buses and double-decker buses to enhance service efficiency.

• No impact on O-Train and Para Transpo services: These services will continue to operate on the regular schedule, although passengers may experience some delays due to weather conditions.

Passengers are also advised to use the Travel Planner to check for adjustments before traveling.

Resumption of normal service

Services are expected to return to normal on the morning of Friday, February 14, and an official update will be issued regarding this.
