Montreal police arrested a woman on charges of assaulting metro users
The police said they arrested a 35-year-old woman yesterday, Friday, and she is expected to appear in court to face charges of assault and causing bodily harm after a woman was attacked on April 4
The victim is the daughter of Natalie Collard, a columnist for La Presse, who wrote on social media that her daughter was punched in the face while waiting for the metro at the Lionel - Groulx station and that there were no security guards in sight.
The arrest comes amid growing concerns about safety in the metro system, particularly due to random attacks.
On April 3, a group of teenagers participated in the stabbing of a 35-year-old homeless man at the entrance to the Lionel-Groulx station
