A 14-year-old boy died after being hit by a car while riding his electric bike in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood yesterday, Tuesday.
Montreal Police (SPVM) reported that the accident occurred around 6:50 PM near the intersection of Lachapelle Street and Émile-Nelligan.
The victim was heading east on Lachapelle Street and attempted to cross near the intersection.
SPVM spokesperson Anthony D'Aurelias confirmed, "It was claimed that he was struck by a car that was traveling north."
The teenager was taken to the hospital, and his death was announced yesterday, Tuesday. The investigation is still ongoing.
