The investigation into a quadruple abduction in Old Montreal has been transferred to the Quebec Provincial Police.
On Saturday afternoon, Montreal police said three of the victims – two women and a man in their early twenties – were found safe.
Quebec Security spokesperson Frédéric Deshaies said on Sunday that the case was referred to the Quebec Provincial Police (SQ) since the fourth missing person was last seen outside Montreal police jurisdiction.
The SQ’s Crimes Against Persons Unit is handling the investigation.
Deshaies stated that no further information can be disclosed during the investigation.
Meanwhile, Montreal police said they received a 911 call on Friday around 4 a.m. about a disturbance in a residential building on de la Commune Street near Saint-Hubert Street. A source told CTV News that the burned car found hours later in Laval might be linked to the abduction.
