Manchester United club announced officially the renewal of the contract of Dutch manager Erik ten Hag, to keep him in the future at Old Trafford, after he was close to leaving at the end of the last season 2023-2024.

Erik ten Hag's contract with Manchester United was set to last until June 2025, but club officials decided to renew his contract after winning the FA Cup.

Manchester United revealed in a statement about the renewal of Erik ten Hag's contract for another season, ending in June 2026 instead of June 2025.

For his part, Ten Hag commented on the renewal of his contract with Manchester United: "I am very happy to reach an agreement with the club to continue working together. Looking back over the past two years, we can be proud of the two trophies we have won and the many examples of progress we have made compared to the situation when I joined."

He added: "We must also recognize that there is still a lot of work to be done to reach the expected levels at United."

He completed: "During our discussions, we found unity in our vision to achieve these goals of competing for English and European titles."
