Russian Andrey Rublev defeated Italian Jannik Sinner, the world number one, with a score of 6/3, 1/6, 6/2, in the quarter-finals of the Canadian Open tennis tournament in Montreal.
The British news agency (PA Media) reported that Rublev and Sinner played two matches yesterday, Saturday.
Rublev defeated Brandon Nakashima, while Sinner triumphed over Alejandro Tabilo, advancing them to the quarter-finals where they faced each other.
