The new professional women's soccer team in Ottawa will play its match at TD Place next year under the name Ottawa Rapid FC.

The team's name, logo, and colors were revealed during an event held at TD Place yesterday, Thursday.

The team, which is part of the Northern Premier League (NSL), will play at TD Place starting in April 2025. The Northern Premier League consists of six clubs: Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, and Halifax.

The logo of Ottawa Rapid FC features a peregrine falcon, which is a native bird to Ottawa and the fastest bird on earth. The team states that the falcon is depicted in an attacking position "to set the stage for who we are" and that "the alignment of the wings is a nod to the structure and formations on the field, with the negative space between the wings representing the three main rivers in Ottawa: Ottawa, Rideau, and Gatineau."

Ottawa Rapid FC states that it will release merchandise and additional information about season tickets in the coming weeks.
