An Israeli security official revealed to the Washington Post that the recent military operation against targets in Iran was carried out after months of prior preparation and smuggling of weapons into Iranian territory, as part of a secret plan executed with the involvement of units from the external intelligence agency “Mossad.”

According to the report, “precision-guided missiles were smuggled into Iranian territory via complex routes” several months before the attack launched by the Israeli Air Force, which targeted nuclear and military sites around Tehran and other areas.

Special operations near air defense sites

The source – whose identity was not disclosed for security reasons – added that commando units from Mossad conducted secret field operations in the past period, which involved transporting and positioning precision weapons near sensitive defensive sites in Iran, with the aim of facilitating the execution of airstrikes and achieving direct hits.

Long-term preparations

These statements indicate that the Israeli attack was not a spontaneous response to security threats, but rather the result of a gradual and complex intelligence plan that took months of preparation, and included high-level intelligence and technological cooperation, at a time when fears of the region slipping into open confrontation are rising.

Iranian ambiguity and official silence

As of the preparation of this report, no official comment had been issued from Tehran regarding these allegations, but Iranian media merely referred to the occurrence of a “limited external attack” that was dealt with by air defenses, without acknowledging any internal intelligence breach.
