Montreal police announced the transfer of three people to the hospital after 30 to 40 gunshots were fired in West Island, Montreal.

Montreal police received a 911 call from a person who reported a fight, during which dozens of gunshots were fired near a house at the corner of Salaberry Street and Davignon Street in Dollar des Ormeaux.

The Independent Investigations Office reported that police officers arrived at the scene as reported, and that there was an exchange of gunfire between the two parties, prompting security forces to establish a large security perimeter in the area.

It was mentioned in the office's statements that seven investigators from the Federal Bureau of Investigation were assigned to investigate the details and implications of the incident.
