Iranian media reported the killing of 10 members of the border guards in a terrorist attack targeting their convoy in the city of Taftan in southeastern Iran.

The "Mehr News" agency stated that preliminary reports regarding this incident indicate that "a group of terrorists attacked the vehicle of the border guard officers".

The Iranian Ministry of Interior stated that the attack occurred in the city of Taftan in Sistan and Baluchestan province in the southeastern part of the country.

It added: "This happened while the patrol was performing its duties," and it occurred in an ambush set by elements of the terrorist "Army of Justice" who opened fire on them, resulting in the death of 10 members, including commissioned soldiers.

Mehr News noted that medical emergency teams headed to the location immediately after the terrorist attack and transported the injured to medical centers for treatment, and it was found that 10 people were killed among them.

According to a statement from the "Iranian Red Crescent," the terrorist incident occurred on the road from Jahorkuh to Bazman around 13:00 today.

In response, the Iranian Ministry of Interior issued a special order to initiate an investigation into the circumstances of the attack.
