The U.S. Central Command announced that a squadron of F-16 aircraft stationed in Germany has arrived in the Central Command area of operations in the Middle East.
On Friday, the United States sent "F-16" fighters to a base in the Middle East, anticipating a possible Iranian response to the expected Israeli attack.
The U.S. Central Command (Centcom) stated on its account on the platform "X": "F-16 aircraft belonging to the U.S. Air Force from the 480th Fighter Squadron stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany have arrived in the area of responsibility of the U.S. Central Command."
Israeli journalist Barak Ravid tweeted on his account on "X": "Reinforcements of F-16 aircraft from the U.S. Air Force arrived today from a base in Germany to a base in the Middle East."
He added: "This announcement comes amidst preparations for a possible Iranian response to the expected Israeli attack."
The British newspaper "Times" revealed on Thursday, citing an informed intelligence source, that "Israel postponed its retaliatory response to Iran due to the need to change some strategies."
The British newspaper stated that "Israel had to develop an alternative plan to attack Iran," adding that "the alternative Israeli plan to attack Iran requires detailed war maneuvers before issuing any orders."
The decision to postpone the retaliatory strike followed last week's leak of classified military information, which was an American assessment of the potential Israeli response.
An intelligence source familiar with the Israeli discussions said, "The leak of American documents led to a delay in the attack due to the need to change some strategies and components. There will be a response, but it will take longer than originally expected."
The leak did not mention potential Iranian targets, but the United States warned Israel against striking Iranian nuclear infrastructure or the oil industry.
