As March break approaches, Toronto Pearson International Airport is preparing to welcome about 1.3 million travelers over the next ten days. Amid a 40% drop in travel bookings to the United States due to trade disputes and a weak Canadian dollar, many Canadians are heading to destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean.
The Canadian government has issued travel warnings for Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, and the Bahamas due to high crime rates and security risks.
Travelers are also advised to exercise caution, avoid isolated areas, and secure their belongings.
