Toronto city witnessed the beginning of snowfall today, Sunday, with an accumulation of 5 cm heavily in most areas of Toronto.
The Canadian Environment Agency had warned of snowfall, sleet, and strong winds over Greater Toronto in the coming days.
The Canadian Ministry of Environment warned road users and vehicle drivers of reduced visibility, especially during morning hours, where difficult mobility for drivers is expected.
Toronto city stated that it is preparing to deploy equipment and crews to clear roads from snow accumulation
and monitor the roads under severe weather conditions.
It also took responsibility for spreading salt solution on highways, bridges, and hills to prevent snow from sticking and attaching to sidewalks, and currently salting and plowing operations are being carried out in case of increased snow accumulation on highways.
