The American billionaire Elon Musk announced that he has sold the social media platform "X" (formerly Twitter) to his artificial intelligence company xAI, in a surprising move aimed at accelerating the integration of AI technologies into the operational structure of the platform.

Musk stated in a post on the platform itself:

“X has been integrated with xAI to develop more advanced and integrated artificial intelligence with social media services.” He added that this move will enhance the platform's capabilities in areas of intelligent interaction, content analysis, and serving users in more personalized and effective ways.

Strategic integration or a step towards AI dominance?

This step is part of a broader strategy by Musk aimed at expanding the applications of artificial intelligence, especially in projects related to freedom of expression, service automation, and developing "general artificial intelligence" capable of simulating human thought.

Although the financial details of the deal were not disclosed, Musk confirmed that the transfer has been completed in full, and that xAI will oversee the development of the platform from now on, in coordination with the technical teams working on it.
