A Egyptian court sentenced an English teacher at a private school to one year in prison for the crime of indecent assault against a student in the Haram area of Giza Governorate.
The 40-year-old teacher is accused of assaulting a 16-year-old child, "exploiting her authority over him," according to the court, which revealed that the teacher had sent the student inappropriate messages with suggestive and sexual phrases, prompting the victim to take her to his residence in the absence of his family.
The court noted in its ruling that the teacher had established a full sexual relationship with her student at his residence, thus "harming the victimized child who had not yet reached the age of 18, by committing the crime charged against him; which led him to engage in acts related to debauchery and the corruption of morals, causing him significant moral and emotional harm as shown in the investigations."
It clarified that the incident was preceded by a romantic relationship between the teacher and her student that lasted nearly 5 months, during which she sent him via the social media application WhatsApp and phone images and phrases and sexual suggestions that incite lust.
The court stated that "her devil urged her to establish a complete sexual relationship like that of married couples several times, exploiting the victim's lack of will due to his young age and his being under her influence as his teacher," explaining that the teacher met her student several times, sometimes at his home in the absence of his family and at other times in her home.
The student's mother discovered the relationship while browsing her son's phone, hurried to file a complaint with the National Council for Motherhood and Childhood to rescue the child, and referred him to some psychologists.
