Ottawa - Arab Canada News
The Canadian government announced on Tuesday that it had evacuated seven Canadian citizens from Israel and the West Bank amid the recent escalation, noting that most Canadians in the region managed to leave using their own means.
The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement that it is closely monitoring the situation and that its consular teams are working around the clock to assist affected citizens, pointing out that the option of evacuation was provided in specific cases where there was an urgent need for intervention.
A spokesperson for the ministry said: “We appreciate the ability of many Canadians to organize their departure themselves, but we will remain ready to provide support in emergencies, in coordination with international partners.”
According to official information, Canada continues to urge its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to the region, especially to tense areas, and calls on those on the ground to stay in constant communication with Canadian embassies and consulates, and to register with the emergency service to receive security updates.
This move comes at a time when military confrontations between Israel and Iran continue, and amid rising security tensions across the region, prompting several countries to take similar measures to protect their nationals.
