The Mediterranean Sea – February 15, 2025: The U.S. Navy announced in an official statement on Thursday that the aircraft carrier “Harry S. Truman” collided with the commercial vessel “MV Beşiktaş-M” in the Mediterranean Sea, near the shores of Port Said, Egypt.

The spokesperson for the U.S. Sixth Fleet, Tim Gorman, confirmed that the carrier did not sustain significant damage, and there were no reported injuries or water leaks inside it, noting that the propulsion engines were unaffected by the incident. He added that an investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the collision, with no additional information available at this time.
