Freezing temperatures are expected to continue dominating British Columbia and the Prairies today Monday and tomorrow Tuesday as strong winds and winter conditions make their way through Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces in Canada.
Temperatures on the west coast are likely to rise slightly during the next week, with rain expected early Thursday.
However, snowfall in Victoria and Vancouver remains within the forecast for Tuesday.
The Canadian Ministry of Environment announced that temperatures will rise somewhat in Alberta starting today, but the warning of severe frost waves is still in effect with maximum temperatures expected to reach 28 degrees Celsius in Edmonton today Monday.
In Ontario, Hydro One says crews are working to restore power to thousands of homes after strong winds caused lines to fall, breaking trees and poles.
The Atlantic provinces in Canada are preparing for snowfall and winds ranging from 90 to 100 kilometers per hour.
