A 27-year-old Canadian tourist was rescued after his car crashed down a slope on Big Island in Hawaii on Sunday.
Local fishermen who were awakened by the incident called authorities after the tourist's rented Jeep went off a slope at midnight.
They told KITV 4 Island News, affiliated with CNN, that the car drifted into the sea after hitting the cliff, but was carried back to shore by the water.
The driver suffered mild hypothermia and was taken to a local hospital, according to the Hawaii Fire Department.
