The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has announced that it will terminate the contracts of 450 temporary employees by the end of the month, as part of a review of federal government spending.
This decision comes after the agency announced in November 2024 a freeze on unnecessary hiring, a halt to "non-essential" overtime, and the termination of contracts for 600 temporary employees.
CRA confirmed that it will continue to assess its financial situation while committed to providing high-quality service to Canadians, especially during the tax filing season, which ends on April 30 for most citizens.
