The authorities confirmed that a Canadian citizen was among the passengers on the ill-fated plane that was en route from India to the United Kingdom, which crashed shortly after taking off from Indira Gandhi International Airport, in a tragic incident that left widespread shock.

The aircraft, belonging to “SkyBridge Air”, was carrying 242 passengers, including several foreign nationalities, when it faced a severe technical malfunction just minutes after leaving the runway, leading to its fall in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the capital.

The Indian authorities announced that rescue teams rushed to the crash site and managed to recover a number of bodies and injured individuals, while search operations continue under difficult conditions.
