A recent opinion poll revealed that 20% of Germans feel daily concern about climate change.

In the survey conducted by the auditing and accounting firm "PricewaterhouseCoopers," approximately 28% of respondents at the international level expressed the same concern.

The company surveyed around 20,000 people in 31 countries - in Europe, Asia, the Americas (North and South), and Africa, including countries where the consequences of global warming are much more severe than they are in Germany.

Sixty percent of respondents in Germany also stated that they feel generally concerned about the climate crisis, but they do not think about it regularly, according to their data.

The poll, which was reviewed by the German news agency (dpa) on Thursday, indicated that the average global percentage of those who said this was 57%.

On the contrary, about 19% of respondents in Germany expressed no concern at all about climate change, compared to roughly 14% at the international level.

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Earth's temperature has risen due to human activities by about 1.1 degrees Celsius. This affects all regions of the world, through the occurrence of extreme weather phenomena more intensely and frequently, such as floods, heatwaves, or droughts, thus causing losses and damages to people and nature.

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the continuation of greenhouse gas emissions will lead to rising temperatures. The panel warns that as temperatures increase, the risk of incurring damages and losses with irreversible consequences also rises.
