The Quebec Provincial Police today conducted the second phase of an operation targeting entities suspected of involvement, among other things, in telecommunications service theft, fraud, and money laundering.
Five individuals were arrested in connection with the alleged crimes in Longueuil, Gatineau
as well as in Brownsburg-Chatham, Saint-Eustache, Laurentians.
The Criminal Asset Recovery Office (BRAC) of the Sureté du Québec had previously carried out searches in May 2023.
The police stated that further
arrests are expected. The police are requesting subscribers to return their devices to the official drop-off point of Quebec's electronics recycling program.
