An Israeli delegation توجه إلى the Qatari capital, Doha, to discuss the continuation of the implementation of the first phase of the prisoner exchange agreement and ceasefire with Hamas. The delegation includes the coordinator for prisoners and missing persons, reserve Brigadier General Gal Hirsch, and the former Deputy Head of the Internal Security Agency.

The official Israeli broadcasting authority reported that the delegation is not authorized to discuss the details of the second phase of the deal, as its current mandate focuses on monitoring the implementation of the first phase only. This comes amidst reports indicating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's desire to extend the first phase for as long as possible.

It is worth mentioning that the first phase of the agreement, which came into effect on January 19, lasts for 42 days and includes a prisoner exchange and a ceasefire, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, with support from the United States.
