A new opinion poll conducted by "Leger" revealed that the Canadian Liberal Party is leading by a margin of six percentage points over the Conservative Party, in a significant indication of changing electoral moods ahead of the anticipated federal election in 2025.

According to the survey results, the Liberals, led by the current Prime Minister, received support from 34% of participants, compared to 28% for the Conservatives led by Pierre Poilievre, while the New Democratic Party ranked third with a support rate of 17%.

According to analysts, the recorded margin is the widest in several months, reflecting a relative decline in the momentum of the Conservative campaign that had been gaining ground in previous polls, amid voters' concerns over austerity plans and increasing interest in health care and cost of living issues.

The poll also showed an increase in personal support for the leader of the Liberal Party compared to Poilievre, especially among undecided and young voters.

Nevertheless, the pollsters emphasized that the margin remains subject to change as the voting date approaches, particularly given the rising number of individuals who have not yet made their choice, which stands at around 15% of the sample.

The poll surveyed a sample of 1,600 participants online over the past week, with a margin of error of ±2.5 percentage points.
