Canada is witnessing significant concern due to the increasing acts of violence and hatred among different communities as a result of the rise in violence in Gaza, the Israeli army killing tens of thousands of the Palestinian people, and the destruction of tens of thousands of homes in the Gaza Strip. Canadian authorities have warned of a rise in incidents of violence against Muslims and Jews in the coming period.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver revealed that a “firebomb” was thrown at the front doors of a synagogue in the city, according to their claims.

The federation stated in an online statement that the incident occurred at the Schara Tzedeck Synagogue on Oak Street at around 9:30 PM last Thursday, and that the damage was minor and no one was injured, and the police are investigating the matter.

The federation described the alleged incident as a “deliberate act of hatred” and an “attempt to intimidate” the Jewish community.

They stated that the Vancouver Police Department and the fire inspector searched the building before declaring it safe to reopen, and announced an investigation into the incident.

The federation claimed that additional police patrols are being deployed at local Jewish institutions.

This incident follows the discovery of bullet holes at two Jewish schools in Montreal and Toronto in recent days.
