According to Environment Canada, the capital is expected to experience a decrease in air quality and visibility today, Friday, due to smoke from wildfires in western Canada.

The weather agency states that individuals experiencing discomfort should limit outdoor activities until 6:30 PM today.

Rain is also expected to return to the capital, with a "moisture-laden system" approaching, bringing heavy rain starting tonight, according to the weather agency.

The temperature is expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius and sunny skies today, Friday - with patches of fog dissipating this morning, according to Environment Canada.

The temperature is expected to drop to 19 degrees Celsius, with clear skies, increasing clouds late in the evening, followed by a 40% chance of rain with a risk of thunderstorms tonight.

Rain is expected over the weekend, with temperatures rising to 22 degrees Celsius, rain ending in the afternoon with a 40% chance of precipitation, and a risk of thunderstorms tomorrow, Saturday.

The temperature is expected to drop to 18 degrees Celsius with rain overnight.
