Much of western Canada has experienced a turbulent flight this week, from severe storms and heavy rain to high-altitude snowfall and a sharp drop in temperatures.
A variety of conditions have brought including heavy rain, snow, and a steep drop in temperatures.
In Calgary, Alberta, the daytime maximum temperature last Tuesday reached 25.1 degrees Celsius, while it barely hit 9.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, snow fell in areas above 2000 meters, and heavy rain poured from Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, to Cold Lake, Alberta.
Stormy winds were also present, with some places like Kindersley, Saskatchewan, recording gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour.
The cyclone itself is fascinating as it spins and pushes cold polar air from the north into areas like the Rockies, then pulls that cold air eastward with it.
By pushing the cold air off the foothills, it encompasses most of Alberta, leaving behind cold British Columbia.
A series of ridges will move in after the cyclone departs, resulting in temperatures rising to seasonal levels and beyond.
