The Canadian Minister of International Trade warned that the tariffs imposed by the United States are causing direct harm to workers and businesses on both sides of the border, emphasizing that these tariffs hinder trade flow and negatively affect the joint economic growth between the two countries.
The minister stated in an official statement that the Canadian government is in intensive communication with American officials to work on finding solutions to this problem, stressing that enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is vital for maintaining market stability and protecting jobs.
She added that Canada will continue to defend its trade interests and take the necessary steps to protect national industries from the negative impacts of these tariffs. She confirmed that ongoing dialogue and openness to negotiations are the optimal ways to overcome these challenges and ensure balanced and stable trade relationships.
