Ontario County Police said there were no reports of serious injuries following a tractor-trailer incident on Highway 401 eastbound in Eastern Ontario yesterday morning, Saturday.
Ontario County Police spokesperson Bill Dixon told CTV News Ottawa that a tractor-trailer heading east crossed the median barrier on the highway and collided with at least two trailers coming from the opposite direction.
Dixon added that as a result of the collision, the tractor-trailer caught fire.
A 31-year-old man from Stouffville, Ontario, has been charged with reckless driving of a commercial vehicle, operating a commercial vehicle without a valid license, and driving without proper insurance.
In a post on X, police said the collision resulted in a fuel leak, leading to the closure of all eastbound highway lanes from Fraser Road to County Road.
The highway has been fully reopened, and the accident scene has been cleared.
