On the third day of early voting in the Canadian federal elections of 2025, leaders of the major parties intensified their electoral activities as the countdown to the official voting day approached, focusing their efforts in key areas that could be crucial in determining the fate of the race.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who still leads in Nanos polls by a comfortable margin, spent his day in Ottawa participating in local events aimed at boosting support in the federal capital. Trudeau spoke to his supporters about the importance of “investing in social stability,” emphasizing that his program aims to protect the middle class, especially in the face of the repercussions of the escalating trade war with the United States.

On the other side of the country, Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre traveled to British Columbia, where he participated in a series of rallies in rural and semi-urban areas, focusing on public safety issues and rising living costs. Poilievre told a crowd in the Fraser Valley: “We will take back control of the economy and rein in inflation, and we will not let criminals take over our streets.”

NDP leader Jagmeet Singh also chose to be in British Columbia, which is considered a traditional stronghold for the party. Singh stated that his party offers a real alternative to the Liberals and Conservatives, calling for comprehensive tax reform and expansion of healthcare and housing support programs.

Early voting continues until April 21, amid signs of record high turnout, with Elections Canada announcing that nearly 2 million voters cast their ballots on the very first day alone, which is a record in the history of early voting in the country.

With less than a week remaining until the official vote, it seems that the major parties are investing every moment in their election campaigns, at a time when many districts remain competitive, raising the importance of every vote in this critical stage.
