The Prime Ministers of Canada are scheduled to begin three days of meetings today, Monday, in Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia.
The event is hosted by Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston, who is the current chair of the Council of the Federation, in the heart of downtown.
Houston told reporters after a cabinet meeting on Thursday that the premiers would focus on discussing "key issues" such as affordability, housing, and infrastructure.
He also stated that he expects talks on the relationships between the provinces and the federal government.
A statement from the Executive Council of Newfoundland and Labrador indicated that the premiers are expected to continue discussions on "revitalizing cooperative federalism" in Canada.
The Council of the Federation, which includes all thirteen provincial and territorial premiers, is set to meet from Monday to Wednesday.
