The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Police of the Ontario Provincial Police stated that one person is facing multiple charges following a traffic complaint on Highway 17 in the town of Head Clara Maria.

The police explained that they received a call after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday reporting a "traffic hazard" along the highway.

The police said responding officers found the vehicle with one occupant and stopped it.

The Public Prosecution Office confirmed in a press release on Friday: “They were arrested and taken to the police station for further testing.”

The police executed a search warrant as a result of the investigation. They did not specify where it was executed.

The police added that executing the search warrant led to the seizure of nearly 125 kg of crystal methamphetamine valued at an estimated $7.5 million.

The Public Prosecution Office added that the police also confiscated a prohibited firearm, a suppressor device, money, and a vehicle.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Robin Moulton, 54, from Minto, New Brunswick, has been charged with breaching the operation and possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 4.
