Police forces opened fire on a woman in the Westboro neighborhood in Ottawa, which caused the woman to be in critical condition, between life and death 

Emergency crews responded  to the shooting at 200 block Tweedsmuir near Avondale Avenue, at 1:30 pm yesterday Friday

Meanwhile, the police said on X platform: “One person was injured after being shot by police on Avondale Avenue around 1:30 pm.”

They added: “The area is still closed to traffic. There is no known threat to public safety.”

A spokesperson for Ottawa paramedics also said paramedics transported a woman to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

A photo sent to CTV News Ottawa showed several police cars parked on Avondale Avenue.

The Special Investigations Unit took over the investigation; the Special Investigations Unit investigates officers’ conduct that may lead to death/serious injury, sexual assault and/or discharging a firearm at someone.

Police officers were urged to be cautious while firing at suspects
