The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday, Wednesday, its strong rejection of the establishment of settlements in the Gaza Strip, and the calls from some Israeli ministers in this regard.

The ministry stated, in a statement, that the "provocative speeches" of the Israeli ministers in this direction undermine the prospects for lasting peace.

It added: "We will support lasting peace and a dignified life for both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples."

The statement noted Canada's rejection of the remarks made by Israeli ministers regarding the establishment of settlements in Gaza.
The Canadian Foreign Ministry said, "We strongly oppose the establishment of new settlements in Gaza."

It is noted that right-wing Israeli officials organized a conference on the Gaza border on Monday, attended by many ministers and Knesset members, calling for the construction of new settlements in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called for the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza and the establishment of new settlements there.

It is worth mentioning that since the beginning of the war, the United States has repeatedly declared its opposition to the return of settlement in the Gaza Strip after the dismantling of settlements in 2005.

With American support, the Israeli occupation forces have been waging a genocidal war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in more than 143,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, and over 10,000 missing persons, amid massive destruction and famine that has killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.

Tel Aviv continues this war, ignoring the United Nations Security Council's decision to immediately end it, and the International Court of Justice's orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
