Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Saturday that Canada will impose a 25% tariff on US goods worth 155 billion Canadian dollars (106.5 billion dollars) in response to US tariffs.
Trudeau said at a press conference that a tariff of 30 billion Canadian dollars will come into effect starting Tuesday, and a tariff of 125 billion Canadian dollars will come into effect after 21 days.
Trump signed an executive order on Saturday imposing a 25% tariff on all goods coming from Canada and Mexico starting Tuesday, except for Canadian energy products which will be subject to a 10% tariff.
