The police in Windsor, Ontario, said a woman is accused of kidnapping her eight-year-old son.
Investigators say the alleged kidnapping was reported around 4 p.m. on Thursday according to a police statement, the woman convinced her son to come with her after school by offering him gifts and dinner.
The police added in their statement that the woman does not have custody of the boy.
It seems the case ended after the police were able to quickly contact the woman and persuade her to return her son safely.
Authorities announced they arrested the woman at 6 p.m. the same day and charged her with parental kidnapping.
The police say the suspect is 40 years old.
