Three children and a driver were injured after a school bus collided with a truck on a highway in Russell, Ontario, and they were taken to the hospital.

Ontario Provincial Police said the two vehicles collided on Highway 400 at around 4:15 PM yesterday, Monday, about 40 kilometers south of Ottawa.

Preliminary investigations also indicate that the school bus attempted to enter the highway and collided with a transport truck heading east.

The police reported that in addition to the driver, there were three students on the school bus, and all were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. The truck driver was unharmed, and a part of Highway 400 remains closed at this time. Police are asking citizens to avoid the area.
