A hearing is scheduled to take place today at the Brampton, Ontario court in the case of billionaire businessman Frank Stronach, who is accused of sexual assault against 10 complainants.
Stronach, who is 91 years old, was first charged last month with five sex-related offenses involving three complainants, followed shortly by eight additional charges involving seven complainants.
Court documents show that the charges include rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, unlawful confinement, and sexual harassment.
They relate to alleged incidents dating back to 1977 and up to this year.
Stronach's attorney, Brian Greenspan, stated that his client denies all allegations against him and plans to "vigorously" defend his reputation.
Greenspan added in a statement released last Friday that Stronach remains innocent and will respond to the charges in court.
Stronach became one of the richest individuals in Canada as the founder of the giant auto parts company Magna, a company he started in his home garage in 1957.
He also founded the Stronach Group, which specializes in horse racing, and established Stronach International in 2018, a company focused on organic food and "micro electric mobility."
Stronach resigned as chairman of Magna in 2011 and founded his own political party in his native Austria the following year.
