The American newspaper "The New York Times" reported, citing American and Israeli officials, on Thursday that Israel has achieved all it can militarily in Gaza.

Officials added that the chances of weakening the Palestinian Hamas movement have diminished further.

They pointed out that Israeli hostages in Gaza cannot be recovered by military means, and that diplomacy is the only way that will enable Tel Aviv to regain the hostages.

They also clarified that Israel attempted to damage the tunnel network in Gaza but failed to destroy it, noting that the tunnel network has proven to be larger than Israel expected and is an effective means for Hamas.

Officials at the U.S. Department of Defense "the Pentagon" expressed their belief that Israel has not yet demonstrated its ability to secure the areas under its control in Gaza.

Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression against the Gaza Strip by land, sea, and air since October 7, resulting in the martyrdom of 39,965 Palestinians and the injury of 92,294 others, while thousands of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, and rescue and civil defense teams cannot reach them.
