NATO announced the establishment of a mission for security support and military training for Ukraine and approved a decision to appoint a high-level civilian representative of the alliance in Ukraine and to establish a center for analyzing and studying the Ukrainian conflict.
This was stated in the final declaration of the NATO summit that was approved in Washington.
The statement said: "The summit decided to establish a mission for security assistance and training for Ukraine under NATO to coordinate military supplies and training for Ukraine from NATO countries and partners, with the mission being to place Ukraine's security assistance on a secure basis."
It added that "the NATO summit decided to establish a joint center for analysis, training, and education with Ukraine to study and apply the experience of the conflict in Ukraine."
The NATO summit is taking place in Washington from July 9-11.
