Two earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.9 and 7.1 struck off the island of Kyushu in southern Japan on Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center stated that there is no immediate threat of a tsunami from the earthquakes, as reported by the French news agency "AFP".
In turn, Japan issued a tsunami warning on Thursday morning after an earthquake of magnitude 6.9 occurred in the southern region.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 on the Richter scale also hit the Japanese island of Kyushu at 07:42 GMT on Thursday, according to the German Research Center for Geosciences "GFZ".
Initially, the epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 10 km, was determined to be at the intersection of latitude 31.75 degrees north and longitude 131.61 degrees east.
