The Israeli occupation authorities released today, Thursday, 110 Palestinian prisoners as part of the third batch of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. This batch included prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment and high sentences, in addition to a number of children.

This release came after resistance factions in Gaza freed three Israeli prisoners and five Thai workers, as part of the "Flood of Al-Aqsa" prisoner exchange deal.

Among the released prisoners, there are 32 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, 48 prisoners with high sentences, in addition to 30 child prisoners. This exceptional batch was carried out in exchange for the return of the displaced to northern Gaza after the occupation cited not releasing the prisoner Arbel Yahud in the previous batch.

The release of Palestinian prisoners was delayed due to a decision from the Israeli political level, aimed at preventing celebrations of their liberation. The occupation forces also imposed strict measures to restrict the celebrating families. After mediation intervention, the obstruction by the occupation was ended, and the Palestinian prisoners were released.

It is worth noting that these Israeli measures come as part of ongoing attempts to prevent any expressions of joy among Palestinians at the liberation of prisoners, as the occupation forces previously intensified operations of repression, arrest, and assaults on released prisoners and their families.

In this context, Hamas congratulated the Palestinian people on the release of a new batch of prisoners, reiterating that the issue of prisoners is a red line, and that the resistance will continue its efforts until all prisoners are liberated and the land and holy sites are reclaimed.
